Ola Electric is getting ready to launch its most affordable electric scooter, the S1 Air, and has announced that the buying window will open on July 28. However, Ola community members and those who reserve it early will receive the S1 Air for an introductory price of Rs. 1,09,999, available from July 28 to July 30. Following that, the S1 Air’s price would be increased to Rs. 1,19,999 (all ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The S1 Air was also recently sighted testing. The Air features a smaller battery and different hardware than the S1 and S1 Pro. A 3kWh battery will power it, which will be attached to a 4.5kW (peak power) motor. It has a total range of 125 kilometres and a top speed of 85 kilometres per hour.
While the S1 Air appears to be comparable to the other two models, it rides on traditional telescopic front forks and twin rear shocks rather than the mono-shock configuration featured on the S1 and S1 Pro. It also gets a flat floorboard instead of the one with the spine. It has the same twin projector LED headlamps and curved side panels.
Ola will have a seven-inch TFT screen, smartphone connectivity, GPS, music playback, three ride modes (Eco, Normal, and Sport), reverse mode, remote boot lock/unlock, and side stand alert. When it is released, it will compete with the TVS iQube standard, Ather 450S, and 450X basic model.
