Another Hero test mule has been sighted near the company’s R&D centre in Jaipur. These spy images expose its side and front profiles to some extent, and here’s what we think it could be.
The test scooter shown here has a sharp front end and butch bodywork on the sides. According to what we can see, the test mule has creases on the side panel identical to the Hero Xoom. Even the front apron section recalls the design of the Xoom and is believed to be equipped with a handful of cubby holders. Nonetheless, its rear wheel appears to be far larger, and it is topped by a little fender.
Hero is also working on a larger Xoom, and we believe this is the same device. It will mostly certainly be a 125cc model with a 125cc single-cylinder engine. Meanwhile, the test scooter’s hardware consists of telescopic front forks and a monoshock. However, the braking system is unknown because we only see a front disc. Hero may possibly have a fully digital console with smartphone connectivity in its next 125cc model.
The scooter appears to be in the early stages of testing, so it may be a while before Hero makes an official statement. Will it, however, bear the Xoom moniker? The only way to know is to wait and see.
