Hop Electric has finally launched its first electric bike

Oxo Design

Hop Electric Mobility has finally launched its much-anticipated electric bike, the Hop Oxo, in India at Rs 1,24,999 after confirming its launch timeline and then date. The business has already shown off its first electric motorcycle, and the Oxo is very similar to the older-generation Yamaha FZ-Fi. The headlight appears to be lifted directly from the Yamaha FZ-Fi Version 2.0. LED strips embedded inside the “tank” and a bulbous-looking battery pack are among the other features of the bike. While it appears to be lean, we wish the bike had its own design character.

The Hop Oxo is powered by a 3.75kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a 3kW (continuous) or 5.2kW/6.3kW (depending on the variation) BLDC (BrushLess DC) hub motor. Hop says that the Oxo has a true range of 150 kilometres. With its portable smart charger, the bike can be charged by any 16 Ampere power source. The company also claims that charging the bike from 0-80 per cent will take less than four hours while charging it from 100 per cent will take five hours. Oxo further claims that the battery has a lifespan of one lakh kilometres.

The battery guarantee on the Oxo is three years/50,000km, whereas the Oxo X is four years (with unlimited kms).

Hop Oxo Features

The bike comes with a 5-inch LCD instrument cluster as standard equipment. It has regenerative braking as well as 4G connectivity. The mobile app enables additional functionality like as distance to empty, navigation, speed control, geo fence, ride data, and more. It also offers three riding modes: Eco, Power, and Sport, with claimed ranges ranging from 150km to 100km to 70km. The top speeds for the three modes, on the other hand, are 45kmph, 65kmph, and 90kmph, respectively.

Variants

The electric bike is available in two variations: regular and X. The Oxo produces 5.2kW of peak power, whereas the Oxo X produces 6.3kW. The Oxo produces 185Nm at the wheel, whereas the Oxo X produces 200Nm, allowing the X to reach a top speed of 95kmph as opposed to the standard Oxo’s 90kmph. The Oxo X also has a Turbo riding mode, which allows it to go from 0 to 40kmph in 3.5 seconds, whilst the usual mode takes four seconds. It also features an 18-degree climbing capacity, as opposed to the standard’s 15-degree.
